Mares XR Ceramic Line Cutter

The new Ceramic Line-Cutter from Mares is a light and very sharp ceramic hand cutter that fits into any diving equipment, a line cutter that cuts any thin line easily and does not oxidise. Sharp blade that does not corrode

As already known from various kitchen utensils, ceramic blades score with excellent sharpness that does not dull with time and does not need to be reground. Of course, you have to take care to protect the material well so that the blade does not splinter, but if you treat your ceramic blade with care, it will cut effortlessly through any line for a really long time, as it is also absolutely abrasion- and corrosion-resistant, even when used frequently in salt or chlorinated water.

Double-sided blade for lines up to 10mm

The double-sided blade of the Mares XR Line-Cutter can easily cut any line up to 10mm in diameter if there are no wires in it. The practical ceramic hand cutter for divers can be used with only one hand and is exceptionally sharp, which makes it much easier to operate underwater, but also requires very careful and attentive handling to minimise the risk of injury. The manufacturer recommends stowing the blade back in the sheath immediately after use and not leaving it hanging freely.

Uncomplicated handling, easy transport

Since it was designed specifically for use in technical diving, the XR Ceramic Line Cutter is not intended as a diving knife but only as a line cutter to cut any fishing lines, nets or other lines and ropes you might get tangled in while diving. To ensure ease of use even in poor visibility and stressful diving situations, the Mares line cutter has a very plain design, a simple handle that is easy to hold even with neoprene gloves, is very easy to attach with Velcro and is child’s play to remove from its Cordura sheath and stow away again.
