Frequently Asked Questions about Mares Atlas 62X Regulator Complete Set
Is the Mares Atlas 62X suitable for cold water?
Yes, the Mares Atlas 62X is designed for cold water diving and offers very good freeze-resistance thanks to its full metal construction and the optional TBP Dry Kit. You can also upgrade the 62X first stage with a Mares TBP cold water kit to further optimise cold water protection.
If the water becomes very cold and you want extra safety, we recommend a classic cold water configuration with two separate second stages. For this you will need an additional Mares first stage, such as this cold water compatible Mares 62X, possibly with the Mares Dry Kit upgrade set.
What are the benefits of the Dynamic Flow Control (DFC) system?
The DFC system minimises the medium pressure drop when inhaling, ensuring a consistent, natural breathing resistanceboth for the primary and alternate air supply.
Who is the Mares Atlas 62X complete set suitable for?
This complete set is aimed at ambitious sport divers and cold water enthusiasts who value reliability, performance and comfort.
How often should the regulator be serviced?
Regular servicing is recommended. Maintenance should be carried out exclusively by a qualified technician, for example in our Scubaonline specialist workshop.
How does the Auto Sealing Technology (AST) system work?
The AST technology automatically seals the first stage as soon as it is disconnected from the cylinder, preventing water from entering.
Is the pressure gauge easy to read even in poor visibility?
The pressure gauge features a fluorescent display with clear markings, so cylinder pressure is easy to read even in low light conditions.
