Carbon monoxide is extremely toxic when diving under increased pressure. Its binding to hemoglobin is 250 – 320 times stronger than that of oxygen. At great diving depths, even a very small amount of CO is therefore life-threatening. This can be prevented by using this catalyst.

Especially when using compressors with combustion engines, the use is recommended. Either in the filter of the compressor or in the personnel filter.
