Steel diving cylinders have a long tradition. Since around 1860, diving cylinders or compressed gas cylinders have been manufactured in this dimension, with the operating pressure already at 150bar back then. Today’s modern diving cylinders have operating pressures of 200bar, 232bar, and 300bar. The 10-liter diving cylinders are available in all three pressure levels. In practice, there is no significant difference between 200bar and 232bar. The breathing air compressors of most filling stations are set to a shut-off pressure of 225bar. After the diving cylinder cools down, there is still about 200 to 210bar pressure remaining in the diving cylinder.
